Since my extended warranty elapsed 4 months earlier Car ended up being totaled cause the amount of damage exceeded the value of the car. I then called my insurance company to file a comprehensive claim. The damage they said would be over $9200. Had the car towed to car dealership to assess the damage. a few moments after the firefighters showed up they cut the battery cords to the fuse box cutting all power to the fuse box and to the whole car. He then took it into his own hands and put the fire out for me. The employees at the convenient store gave me a fire extinguisher while I was on the phone asked the operator if i should use the fire extinguisher, the 911 operator told me if my safety would be at risk that she advised me not to use it and told me the police and firefighters are on there way.Ī customer standing next to me asked what did she say and i relayed the message back to him. Told the details of where my location to 911 and tell them there was a fire coming from the fuse box of the car. The next thing I did, while calling 911 ran to the nearest convenient store (Bargain in a Box) to see if they had a fire extinguisher. In a matter of seconds there was visible flame. Turn my car off, popped open my hood, to see more smoke coming from the fuse box. Low and behold I see smoke coming from the hood of my car. I had to coast my car into an empty parking lot to asset the situation. car power steering cuts off and acceleration shuts off. Meaning windshield wipers going, horn going off, dash board lights flashing all lighting up, etc. Within 100 feet of driving away from the gas station my cars electrical system started to malfunction. Filled my gas tank up pulled out of the gas station. Went to go get gas driving the 2010 Dodge Journey SXT. Dodge is one of my favorite brands, but with know of this problem, I won't buy another one!!! I think it is a shame that Chrysler knows of this problem and refuses to fix it. It is going to cost me $1400.00 to replace and I have already paid a year on the car without driving it much at all because I don't want to get stuck. Finally we pulled the fuse to the horn and had it towed to the electrical place to see what the problem was. This last time, the car wouldn't start at all, not even a click, and then the horn started blowing erratically and we couldn't get it to stop. They changed the battery the second time. They changed it and it was fine for a week and it happened again. Had it back to the dealer, they said it was the battery. I bought the car and the next day it wouldn't start. Said nothing about the TIPM until I took it to an electrical place. Had it back to the dealership twice and all they did was change the battery. This car has been a problem from the beginning. But my car would not restart so I could go buy a new car. I was actually going to trade my vehicle today on a new car. Even though I had an extended warranty, they could never diagnose it. This never repeats at the dealer so this never gets fixed. It has been getting worse and more frequent. Sometimes, I leave the care for several hours, then it might start. After a lot of on-line research, I spent $600 last week to replace the neutral safety switch because we thought it was the issue.

I do not get code warning lights on this item either. This is not a battery issue, a starter issue, or a relay. All the lights and gauges work but I when I turn the key all the way, nothing happens. Then, suddenly, if I turn my car off for a moment, then try to start the vehicle, I can not restart. Everything is working fine for days, weeks or even months. This vehicle has stranded me at least 20 times the past few years.
